19 years back, 7 like-minded people got together and formed KHUSHII - Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Intervention in India. Today KHUSHII is working pan-India with the grace of the Almighty, generosity of our patrons and many philanthropic stalwarts of the country, support of the young and dynamic Board and a tremendously passionate team.
We hope with all this guidance we are able to reach out to many more beneficiaries, and offer our holistic intervention for creating able individuals.

Dear Patrons,
Today, KHUSHII’s impact is across 10 states in India, supporting 45,000 children
under our education programme and 5,00,000 people in the community.
Our mission and intent has not changed since our inception in 2003. Our aim: to
transform society and improve the lives of those who are most in need, and our
focus: to use the power of Education to change the lives of as many people as
possible, breaking the vicious cycle of poverty.
KHUSHII’s Education Programme: Shikshaantra Plus focusses on the strong base of
the existing Government Schools in our country. The need however, is a series of
improvements which are required within these schools to ensure that the students
are not left behind and choose to remain in formal schooling systems.
Our approach is to first and foremost, prioritise our Students. We provide an
improved student-friendly learning experience, where all activities are child focussed,
with teacher trainings conducted to ensure that faculty are using methods and tools
to engage with the children for better and holistic learning.
Our KHUSHII team of counsellors and teachers work closely with the Children and
their families – encouraging interactions and communication in the home, identifying
areas of concern where counselling may be beneficial and all in all, ensuring mental
health wellness.
Our learnings from Swatantra Shikhshaantra, KHUSHII’s flagship school which was
set up in 2007, has given KHUSHII a deeper and better understanding of the level
and type of holistic intervention which is required for wide-spread and large scale
implementation within Government Schools. Our experiences over the years has
made it very clear that to ensure optimal impact in the lives of our KHUSHII children,
it is imperative to support the families of the children and Community which is
adjoining to the school.
We inculcate a sense of belonging, a sense of community and a sense of pride in
our KHUSHII students and believe that this is what helps us build brighter futures for
all of our 45,000 children.
On behalf of each and every one of these children, I thank you for your constant
support. Many of you have stood by our side and walked the path with us over the
years, we stand where we are today due to your contribution!
Dear Patrons,
I’m delighted to be a part of KHUSHII in the development of a collective and stronger future through participation at the grassroot level.
During my association which started in 2005 first as a volunteer, I have seen KHUSHII evolve as a strong team, with a proven track record of generating a higher return on social investment for all its donors. I was inducted into the Governing Board in 2009, and I am extremely humbled to now take on the responsibility as the Treasurer.
The story of last few years spell success, with several milestones being achieved. The most heartening one is that, with the efforts of our counsellors and field mobilisers, dropout rates have reduced to 2%, meaning more students have returned to mainstream education. Our outreach has increased from 28,000 in 6 states to 50,000+ students in 12 states.
KHUSHII’s Faridabad students won the top three prizes in quiz competition, tinkering and modelmaking at the stem award 2020, beating 200 pan-India schools. A team of 10 students and 3 KHUSHII teachers from Mukundpur school, Delhi, won the first prize in zonal Science fair. Under the guidance of KHUSHII sports teachers, three students from the same school topped state-level kabaddi competition.
Moreover, 42 deserving students receive sponsorship for BTEC, BPHARM, CA, CS, and BBA courses, while 10 sponsored students are working in well-known organisations such as Candance, Deloitte, RBS, Max Institute of Health Education and Research, and Narendra Mohan Hospital. KHUSHII children marked their presence in a panel discussion on Doordarshan as well as ‘Hawa Tight’ Campaign on 92.7 FM.
In the future, KHUSHII’s empanelment With Delhi Commission for protection of child rights DCPCR, and collaboration with the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) to create a research-based module for WASH is sure to help us achieve more positive outcomes at the national level.
KHUSHII was able to make significant leaps on-ground last year thanks to the generosity of its donors. 43+ corporate partners like KPMG Global Services, Charities Aid Foundation India, Federal Mogul Goetze India, Newgen Software Technologies, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Microsoft, Oracle, Sandhar, Flextronics Technologies in India and Adobe Foundation overseas answered the call to support KHUSHII’s initiatives.
Despite the successes, KHUSHII has a long way ahead towards accomplishing its vision of an equitable future for children and communities. In view of the challenges posed by COVID-19, our relief plans/efforts revolve around two verticals. The first one is KHUSHII Relief Fund to support those who have been affected by the pandemic on a long-term basis with a sustainable support plan, and putting systems in place to meet the needs of the “second round of giving”. The second one pertains to ensuring continued support to those who are dependent on KHUSHII, which include our 50,000+ children and ~5,00,000 individuals in the community we serve.
As I take upon my new role as Treasurer, I pledge to look ahead, together, towards a brighter future, and thank all individuals and organisations who have made each of our endeavours a success with their valuable support.
Dear Patrons,
As I took the reins as KHUSHII’s General Secretary in October, 2019 I must say that I gained a perfect family of 50,000+ children, 500,000 fellow Indians, determined to break the chain of poverty, and a dedicated team working diligently to truly make a change.
My predecessors and the founder members have set a solid foundation for KHUSHII based on equal opportunities, partnerships and joining forces to do the most that we can together. The impact we have had in the lives of 1.5 million over our 19 years has truly been a mammoth achievement – and one of our driving forces to keep doing more. Our Goal is to create a network of significant change – impacting 2,50,000 lives by 2025. Due to the contribution from our Corporate Partners and Donors, we are surely and steadily approaching our goal.
Our Corporate partners play a pivotal role to ensure sustainability of KHUSHII’s Programme initiatives. Their contribution also strives towards building a constant financial reserve to safeguard our beneficiaries from any unforeseeable circumstances. Corporate Partnerships act as the backbone to KHUSHII’s programmatic needs – giving KHUSHII what is scarce – time and money. In addition to the financial support that Corporates bring, their contribution is also on a participatory level, with many offering skilled volunteers, who bring knowledge, proficiencies and new ideas to our organisation.
Longstanding relationships with both our Corporate partners and individual donors are something that KHUSHII prides itself on – we believe this is a result of complete transparency through regular updates and reports, Programme visits and interactions with the beneficiaries, and our underlying intent to give our patrons and supporters a token of appreciation on behalf of our KHUSHII children. This is where our Art & Events Team comes into play who have been successful over the years due interactive and unique fundraising concepts and the continuous support of benevolent and eminent personalities across the globe.
Our aim through our fundraisers is to give thanks to our patrons and supporters for their generosity. Each concept is an endevour to create an interactive and unique experience for the patrons and giving them a tangible memory of their contribution – a reminder of the smiles they have painted on the faces of many underprivileged. Funds generated through these events are often need-based or specific to a certain cause or project, and are also the main source for KHUSHII’s Corpus for future plans and sustenance of the organisation.
I thank you for coming forward to support our organisation and sign off with a quote which shall surely resonate with each and every one of us.
“No one has ever become poor by giving”
– Anne Frank
Dear Patrons,
After serving as the KHUSHII Treasurer for 3 years, when I was nominated to take on the role of President, I felt as though it was the perfect continuation to my association with KHUSHII.
KHUSHII believes in the transformation of children through education, and our focus has been on the holistic development of children. The impact was significant from day one, with our first ever project – ‘The Neemrana Project’- having a massive outreach: monitoring and evaluating 4,80,000 rural and urban beneficiaries.
In tune with KHUSHII’s journey of realigning with the aftereffects of the pandemic, we envisioned an organizational adaptability and rebuilt our vision, mission and goal. With reassuring resilience KHUSHII built upon the VISION that ‘Every child has access to realize their full potential through quality education and holistic learning to become young empowered leaders in the urban and the rural segments, to contribute towards a self-reliant India.’ Our MISSION of ‘To prepare less privileged children of India through holistic support to succeed in a rapidly changing environment’ seems possible with the continued patronage of our growing corporate donors. And while strengthening partnerships, we now imbibe our VALUES of Accountability, Leadership, Transparency, Team Work and Innovation.
KHUSHII today reaches out to approximately 50,306 beneficiaries in 48 Schools & 12 Learning Centres across 12 states pan-India through its Shikshaantra Plus programme. Our differentiating quotient in addressing the mental wellbeing of a child under the Manoshakti wing, and building life-skills through Shiksha Aur Vikas, both of which have been possible due to the support of 43+ Corporate Partners. This, we believe, speaks for itself when it comes to KHUSHII’s credibility and impact.
I am fortunate enough to come from a background in the education sector, and I firmly believe that Education is the founding stone towards a developed nation. I am confident that my experience and expertise in this field will help KHUSHII make a deeper impact, and through this process of interacting with those children who are lesser-privileged, I too will keep learning.
The need to reach out to every child possible is essential, and I pledge that under my leadership, KHUSHII will reach to 2,50,000 children, by the end of the year 2025. This will only be possible by the constant support of our longstanding patrons, corporate partners, my fellow office-bearers, and the passionate KHUSHII team. It is my responsibility to take forward the vision that Mr. Kapil Dev had when he set up KHUSHII in 2003, which was to ensure that no child is left behind.
KHUSHII’s success was largely possible due to the constant endeavor of the team, and the belief of our donors. In the FY 21-22, we retained and onboarded 43+ corporate partners – a testament to KHUSHII’s credibility, which we believe is a result of complete transparency through regular updates and reports, Programme visits and interactions with the beneficiaries, our underlying intent to give our patrons and supporters a token of appreciation on behalf of our KHUSHII children.
Alongside, KHUSHII’s Arts & Events Team remain successful over the years in curating conceptual fundraising concepts which has had the unremitting support of eminent personalities and art lovers, globally. Funds generated through these events are need-based and are also the main source for KHUSHII’s Corpus.
KHUSHII is focussed towards building brighter futures for our nation’s children by offering a holistic approach to empower those who do not have an access to quality education and most importantly need to take care of their socio-emotional health. I appeal to all of you to stand with me so we can lead the path for the future generations, and ensure they know that there is someone there to guide them.
